AVC International in coordination with a team from International Federation of Iraqi Refugees (IFIR) distributed 2000 heaters to the Yazdi refugees in Sinjar Mountain on 9th January this year. Ari Jalal, the IFIR representative of Sulaimania stated that the IFIR were able to distribute 1400 heaters to refugee families, hospitals and schools in the area. The distribution of the heaters was based on decisions made by the refugees.
Given the political situation in the region we were not able to deliver them at the agreed time. In fact, we have been waiting for almost 20 days. The distribution was made possible with the help and cooperation of the ministry of Migration and Displaced.
Bakhtyar Omar, the IFIR relationship coordinator in Sinjar said that the heaters have reached many people in desperate need. He acknowledged and thanked all those who took part in the distribution.
In the last 3 years IFIR has supported many refugees and the internally displaced persons (IDPs) across the Kurdish region all of whom are victims of the sectarian violence and war in Iraq caused by ISIS..
AVC international has provided thousands of people with clothes, food, bedding, accommodation, medicine, heaters and fridges. AVC has also supported special events for children with lots of fun and games to help them forget their misery for a short while.
IFIR thanks AVC International organization and other Human rights organization for supporting IFIR’s campaign to help and support IDP’s in Iraq and Kurdistan.
