Today, thousands of people around the world are forced to flee their homes in search of
a quiet and safe life owing to war, poor economic conditions, threats, and discrimination.
Iranian Kurdish refugees, some of whom fled to Iraq at the start of the war between Iran
and Iraq, and later the Islamic Republic of Iran’s repression, oppression, deprivation of
rights, and systematic discrimination of these Iranians, especially the Kurdish nation,
caused thousands of people to flee to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region
