21 Kurdish Asylum Seekers on hunger strike in Greece

Kamo Osman informed IFIR that 21 Iraqi Kurdish Asylum Seekers have been on hunger strike since Monday 16th November 2020.

 Kamo also said “They have gone on strike as they have been put in very poor conditions with no security and no food in the refugee Korinthos detention centre’They have applied for asylum but the authorities didn’t respond to them hence why they are on hunger strike. Two of the asylum seekers fainted due to having no food. The International Federation of Iraqi Refugees-IFIR are asking the Greek Authorities to respond to the demands of the Iraqi Refugees and respect the refugees rights. IFIR also asks the UNHCR and the Refugee Right Orgnaisation to support the demands of the refugees being accepting the asylum claims and to release them from the detention centre.
