29 May 2017Assan was woken up at six am this morning (29 May) and moved to a single cell. He was then moved to the airport. He is currently in a van at Heathrow airport awaiting being put on a Turkish airline flight via Istanbul to Baghdad. The flight is scheduled to leave at six pm today.
This is the second time Assan has been threatened with deportation. The first time was on the 8 May. Thanks to your support his deportation was cancelled on the 8 May.
Assan, an asylum seeker from Mosul, arrived in the UK on 8 Feb 2003. Assan’s English girlfriend asked us to repeat the following appeal:
“Hi, my name is Annmarie Doksani, partner of Assan Yaba Assan. We have been together since 2010. I don’t want him to be sent back to Mosul because his life is at risk. I am really frightened and also not in a good way, I’m not eating or sleeping, I have lost a lot of weight since he was detained also self-harming, because he’s my everything. I ask from the bottom of my heart to please help me and stop the deportation.
Please call Turkish Airlines on 020 7471 6666 to demand that they do not
deport Assan
